I’m guessing you’ve never ridden a dirt bike before and wondering “Is dirt bike riding fun?” What makes it so much better than anything else?
Well, in this article, I’m not only going to answer that question, but I’ll also show you why it’s worth getting a dirt bike, why it’s not as dangerous as some people make it out to be, and how to make it safe for your whole family.
Is it worth it to get a dirt bike?
You shouldn’t get a dirt bike… unless you want to live more.
There are many reasons why it’s worth it for you to get a dirt bike. I’ll cover some of them here, but I’ll also be practical and reasonable because, let’s face it, there’s some danger and cost involved.
Is a dirt bike hard to ride?
Learning to ride a dirt bike is not hard if you get the proper training. The hard part is when you want to ride faster and more challenging trails.
One of the biggest mistakes new riders make is they try and teach themselves how to ride. This will either take years to figure out all of the right techniques, or you’ll likely ride out of control, which leads to crashing more.
Learning the proper techniques right from the beginning will prevent bad habits that form because you often don’t realize what you’re doing wrong without the right knowledge.
Is it easier to ride a dirt bike or street bike?
A dirt bike is easier to ride than a street bike or you’re learning to ride for the first time. It’s easier to use the clutch and balance at low speeds on a dirt bike because street bikes are heavier and harder to turn at low speeds.
It’s best to start on a dirt bike before a street bike for beginners. You’ll learn the controls, balance, and how to get proper traction more easily on a lightweight bike.
Is it fun to ride a dirt bike?
This may seem like an obvious answer, but yes, riding a dirt bike can be extremely fun. It can also be intimidating and frustrating if you start on the wrong path.
For example, if you start on a dirt bike that has way more power than you need (250 2-stroke or 450 4-stroke), then it’s going to be very difficult to control riding off-road. I’ve seen countless new riders say that riding a fast bike is unpredictable and scary because the front wheel comes up “when it wants to”.
This is because they never learned how to properly control a dirt bike in the first place. Riding a slower bike will allow you to focus on practicing your proper riding technique and have a lot more fun.
Why are dirt bikes so fun?
There’s nothing else like riding two wheels in the dirt. It requires a special skill to stay balanced, and that’s one of the reasons why dirt biking is so fun.
Being able to rail a corner with the bike leaned over, plowing through obstacles with the suspension soaking up most of the impact, and your right hand connected to the power of the rear wheel and exhaust noise.
Not only that, but the friendly competition of riding with friends and family is very addicting. You also get to see sights that you might not ever see otherwise because dirt bike trails bring you to new places in this world.
Why do I like riding dirt bikes?
I like riding dirt bikes for the reasons listed above, but I also enjoy the thrill and adrenaline rush that it gives me. It’s also a stress reliever.
I’m thankful that I can ride right out of my garage on a short trail loop. Because when I’m on my dirt bike, I’m not thinking about anything else – I can’t or I’ll lose focus and more than likely crash.
Being able to focus on riding and leave everything else behind is soothing because I am “in the moment” and enjoying it, rather than worrying about going to work tomorrow or all the chores that need to get done.
Why you should get your kid or spouse a dirt bike
If I have convinced you, or you convinced yourself to get a dirt bike, then I highly recommend getting your wife (or husband) and/or your kids into dirt biking as well. Not only is it more enjoyable riding with your family, but it’s a great way to bond and make lifelong memories together.
You can go through and talk through the struggles as well as the excitement together. Being able to go on a camping trip and go trail riding as a family is an amazing thing if you do it right.
With that said, you need to start out on the proper path or else dirt biking will be frustrating and more dangerous. Riding a dirt bike doesn’t have to be dangerous, and I want to show you how.
How to make dirt biking safer
It all starts with the right bike. A beginner-friendly trail bike is much easier and safer to learn on because it won’t get out of control as easily, but that’s only the first step.
The next step is learning the proper riding techniques. Learning the basic techniques will give you more control, confidence, and ultimately make you a better and safer rider, and I want to show you how to do that.
I made a quick and practical guide that covers these basic techniques, and I want to give it to you for free. Click or tap here to download it.

For beginner BMW F7 50 or 850 GS adventure he’s good?

Hey Harry, are you asking if those are good beginner bikes? If so, then I'd recommend something smaller/lighter if you're doing any off-road. You'll find that they're a handful until you build up your balance and confidence riding in the dirt because it's easy to fall over at low speeds on a big, heavy adventure bike. Does that make sense, Harry?
