Stop Guessing Your Jetting - Use This Simple Sounds & Symptoms Method to Dial In Your 2-Stroke in One Ride
Identify the problem in seconds, know if it’s rich or lean, and fix it in under 2 hours
🔧 What This Will Help You Do (Fast)
✔ Know EXACTLY which jet to change ✔ Fix bogging, sputtering, spooge, inconsistent idle, hard starting, and plug fouling ✔ Dial in your carb in one ride ✔ Stop guessing forever
The Sounds & Symptoms Tuning Method
A simple way to diagnose ANY jetting problem in minutes — without guessing
Most riders randomly change jets.
This method tells you exactly:
WHICH direction to fix it
WHAT is wrong
WHERE the problem is
Here’s how it works:
Step 1 — Rule Out The Simple Stuff
(Eliminate false jetting problems fast)
Step 2 — The 5-Second Throttle Test
(Identify the exact circuit causing the issue)
Step 3 — Rich vs Lean (By Sound)
(Know exactly which way to adjust — confidently)
👉 This is why most jetting problems can be fixed in one ride
Example (How This Works In Real Life)
Let’s say your bike bogs when you hit the throttle.
Instead of guessing…
You do a quick throttle test:
Problem happens at low throttle → pilot circuit
Mid throttle → needle
Full throttle → main jet
Then you listen:
“Blubbering / sputtering” → too rich
“Flat / hollow / dying sound” → too lean
👉 Now you know EXACTLY what to change and which direction to go.
“Here’s what that actually looks like on your bike:”
Stop fouling plugs.
Stop bogging or sputtering while trying to accelerate.
Stop worrying about blowing up your engine.
If your 2-stroke dirt bike runs amazing one day… and terrible the next… You are NOT alone.
Most riders struggle with carburetor tuning because no one has ever shown them a simple system to diagnose jetting problems in real riding conditions.
Until now.
Imagine This Instead…
You start your bike.
It fires quickly. Throttle response is crisp. It pulls clean with no hesitation.
No sputtering or bogging. No plug fouling. No worrying about engine damage.
👉 Just smooth, predictable power - every ride.
⚠️ Why Most Jetting Advice Online FAILS
They try to:
Copy jet sizes from forums - but every bike and climate is different
"Guess and hope!" - you might get it right, but it could take WEEKS, and you won't know WHY the next time you have a jetting symptom
Tune in the garage on the stand - revving in neutral is not the most accurate way because the engine isn't "under load" in real world riding situations
Ignore weather and elevation - jetting isn't a "set it and forget it" unless you ride the same climate year-round
Misdiagnose symptoms (especially rich vs lean) - this is where most people mess up. They don't have a proper method or knowledge to know the difference and end up going the WRONG direction
Replace it with a new (CHEAP) carburetor - $35 from eBay or Amazon is a cheap "fix", but these "knock-off" carbs are harder to tune and less reliable than fixing an OEM carburetor
This "Sounds & Symptoms" tuning method fixes all of that by giving you a simple way to recognize where the problem really is, which direction you need to go, and how far without making it worse.

“You’ll stop guessing — and start knowing exactly what your bike needs.”
Why listen to me?
I wasn’t a mechanic.
I was just a rider who was frustrated with a bike that didn’t run right.
Back in 2015, I was on a 10-day trip in Colorado…
…and my bike wouldn’t even start.
Different elevation. Totally different conditions.
I had no choice but to figure it out.
That’s when everything started to clicked.
Riding my KTM 200 XCW out in the Rocky Mountains 🙂
Since then, I’ve been obsessed with:
Diagnosing jetting problems fast
Getting bikes to run clean and predictable
Eliminating the guesswork most riders struggle with (think RICH vs LEAN symptoms)
Because if there’s one thing I can’t stand…
👉 It’s a bike that runs like crap.
What Bad Jetting Actually Costs You
Most riders WASTE:
MONEY:
$50–$200 on the wrong jets or aftermarket jet kits
$10–$30 per fouled plug (over and over)
TIME:
Entire riding days dealing with a bad-running bike
Weeks or MONTHS guessing and fiddling with the carb until they "get it right"
And worst of all…
RISK:
Risking a $500–$1,500 top-end rebuild from running too lean
$300–$400 every time you take it to a shop
Or fix it today for less than the cost of a few spark plugs and a jet kit.
A piston melted down from getting too hot...
If this saves you just ONE fouled plug, one wasted riding day, or one wrong jet kit… it pays for itself immediately.

What Riders Like You Are Saying:
"From sputtering at ¼ throttle → running clean every ride"
"My bike was running rich and spattering in the first ¼ throttle. After following through the 2 Stroke Jetting Made Easy method, I realized I could ride my bike between jetting changes, and now my bike runs amazing."
-Chris H. (Australia)
"Helped me understand which specific jet to focus on"
“I've been around 2 stroke dirt bikes for decades and this guide really helped me to understand carburetor jetting better and which specific jet to focus on, whether it be the pilot, or main jet. Your instructions are awesome. Thanks, Kelley!”
-John Irwin, Portage, Pennsylvania
"WOW... the engine is like right on now... super snappy and no "dead" spots in throttle."
"I kinda overthougth it...and in my mind i switched to thinking the carbs were STARVING the motor...so i needed to DROP the clip (to raise the pin)... but i did 1 position dropping clip at a time and it went from BAD to WORSE...
So obviously i went back to my "carbs are flooding my engine" and raised the cllip up 1 position OVER where it was when i started tweaking... and WOW... the engine is like right on now... super snappy and no "dead" spots in throttle
I guess im shocked at how just moving it 1 position makes such a huge performance difference.
thx for you input and advise... i used to be the master of making 3 adjustments everytime i opened the hood on a sled... now (thx to you) i just make 1 change and then test....sounds so obvious...but when your anxoius and always in a rush like me...i needed to be reminded to just make small changes. LOL
Thx again Kelly... appreciate your help!!...
until next carb issue..... :)”
-Daniel Reehoff (Wisconsin)
"It's easy to start now"
"My 2 stroke was hard to start and smoking after start. Kelley's jetting guide helped me solve both issues. I found the float setting lesson to be most helpful."
-Doug
“This is the best explanation of tuning a Carburetor I have found on the web. Nice thorough process and great explanation on what to do! Thank you!”
-John F Di Fabrizio
FAQ
“What if I’ve never tuned a carb before?” Perfect - this is designed for beginners.
“What if my bike is way off?” That’s exactly who this helps most.
“How fast will I see results?” Most riders notice improvement the same day.
“Will I need to buy any parts/tools?” You may need to buy $5-15 worth of jets, but special "jet kits" or custom needles are typically not needed to get your bike to "run right". Some carburetors may need certain gaskets replaced if they're worn or leaking, which will be covered in this course.
